Gorlois
Gorlois was a mighty Duke of Tintagel, and he was a brave warrior. He kept the kingdom at peace and also managed his own family. He was a stout man with big brown eyes, a full brown beard, and a full head of brown hair. He was also married to Igraine of Tintagel, and together they conceived three children: Morgause, Morgana La Fay, and Elaine. All three children were skillful witches; however, each used her powers differently.
Gorlois achieved a long-lasting peace between Uther Pendragon and himself. They were so peaceful and close that Gorlois counseled Uther during the time of the Saxon's War. However, this peace broke when Uther fell in lust with Igraine (Gorlois' wife). Because of their desire for Igraine, they dissolved into a disastrous war. Sadly, this caused the two friends to become arch enemies.
Gorlois died the same night he and his former friend went into combat. Uther's forces over powered the Duke of Tintagel, and he was murdered that night. At St. Dennis, he took his final breath. He didn't go down without a fight. He died protecting his wife and his kingdom.
All in all, Gorlois was a man of courage. He was a passionate man, and he loved his wife very much. Though he wasn't directly related to King Arthur, he still played a very important part in this family tree. In the tales of King Arthur, his desire to show off his wife made him a key factor, because it led to Uther lusting after her and creating Arthur.
